Linexia Business Installation Tutorial

Complete guide to installing Linexia Business, from preparing a bootable USB to the installation process on your computer.

Part 1: Creating a Linexia Bootable USB in Windows (Using Ventoy)

1.1 Preparation

Before starting, prepare:

• USB flash drive at least 8 GB (all data on it will be erased during Ventoy installation)

• Linexia ISO file (download from the official Linexia website here)

• Internet connection to download Ventoy

1.2 Download Ventoy

1. Open your browser and go to the Download page on this website

2. Download the Ventoy for Windows

3. File size is approximately 16 – 17 MB

1.3 Extract and Prepare Ventoy

1. Extract the downloaded ventoy-1.1.17-windows.zip file to a folder (e.g., C:\ventoy)

2. Inside the extracted folder, you will find several files, including Ventoy2Disk.exe and Ventoy2Disk.cmd

1.4 Creating the Bootable USB with Ventoy

Ventoy works differently: you install Ventoy onto the USB once, and then you copy ISO files to the USB just like copying regular files.
Step-by-step:

1. Insert the USB flash drive into your computer’s USB port

2. Open the Ventoy extracted folder, then run Ventoy2Disk.exe (right-click → “Run as administrator” for safety)

3. In the Ventoy window, select your USB device from the Device list (make sure you choose the correct flash drive)

4. Click the “Install” button :
   – A warning will appear that all data on the USB will be erased. Click “Yes” to proceed
   – Wait for the installation process to complete (only takes a few seconds)

5. After installation, your USB now has two partitions :
   – Data partition (large, usually named Ventoy) – where you copy ISO files
   – EFI partition (small, 32 MB) – for the bootloader

6. Copy the Linexia ISO file to the data partition of the USB (just drag and drop like copying any regular file)
   – No special tools required, no long “flashing” process

7. Once finished, safely eject the USB

💡 Ventoy Tips :

• Booting from USB : Insert the USB, restart your computer, enter the Boot Menu (usually F12/ESC/F2), select the USB drive, then choose the Linexia ISO from the Ventoy menu
• If you encounter an invalid magic number error or boot into GRUB CLI: In the Ventoy menu, highlight the ISO, press F5, then select Boot in GRUB2 mode (this often resolves compatibility issues)
• Advantage of Ventoy : You can store multiple ISO files on the same USB and choose between them at boot time. No need to rewrite the USB every time you want to switch ISOs

Part 2: Installing Linexia Business with Installer Wizard

2.1 Booting from the Linexia USB

1. Insert the Linexia bootable USB into the target computer

2. Restart the computer

3. When the computer starts, press the key to enter the Boot Menu (usually F12, ESC, or F2 depending on the laptop brand)

4. Select the USB flash drive as the first boot device

5. Wait for the Linexia GRUB menu to appear, then select “Try Linexia without installing” or press Enter to boot directly into Live mode

6. Wait until the Linexia desktop appears (you will be logged in as the live user)

2.2 Starting the Installation with Installer Wizard

1. On the Linexia desktop, double-click the “Install Linexia” icon

2. The Installer Wizard will open — this is the graphical installer that will guide you

2.3 Installation Steps

Welcome Screen

• Select your preferred language (default: English)

• Click “Next” to continue

Location & Time Zone

• Select your time zone on the map or from the list

• Click “Next”

Keyboard Layout

• Choose the keyboard layout that matches your hardware

• Click “Next”

Disk Partitioning (Options)

• Automatic: Select “Erase disk” for the easiest installation (the entire disk will be used)

• Manual: Select “Manual partitioning” if you want to configure partitions yourself

• For beginners, choose “Erase disk” and click “Next”

⚠️ Warning: If you choose “Erase disk”, all data on the hard drive will be deleted. Make sure you have backed up important data beforehand.

Click “Next” 

Summary

• Review all the settings you have chosen

• If anything is incorrect, you can go back to the previous step

• If you are sure, click “Install” to start the installation process

2.4 Installation Process

• The file copying process will begin (approximately 30-40% of the total time)

• Installer Wizard will create the user account, configure the bootloader, and complete the installation

• Do not turn off your computer or remove the USB during the process

• Wait until the installation completion notification appears

2.5 Finish & Restart

1. After installation is complete, click the “Restart Now” button

2. Remove the USB flash drive when the computer restarts (or when prompted)

3. The computer will boot into your newly installed Linexia Business

Part 3: First Login

1. On the login screen, enter:

   • Username: `linexia`

   • Password: `linexia`

   • (Can be changed)
2. Press Enter or click the login button

3. To login to the Odoo application:

   • Username: `admin`

   • Password: `admin`

   • (Can be changed)
